Cha Kettle with Magnetic Base

The Cha Kettle/Teapot was designed by Naoto Fukasawa for Alessi.

Fukasawa is a Japanese industrial designer who seeks to form shapes which translate into functional items that people desire. He calls his design process "Without Thought", and he shares his methods in design workshops. The design company behind the Cha Kettle/Teapot is a well-established Italian operation which works with international designers; Alessi began in 1921 as a sheet metal processor and foundry working with brass, nickel and silver. The company has evolved into a market leader which aims to bring stylish, modern furniture and home accessory designs to the mass market.

The Cha Kettle/Teapot is a sleek, contemporary take on a classic tea kettle. The body of the kettle has an elongated, modern shape, while the handle takes inspiration from the designer's Japanese roots. This beautiful piece is as much a decorative item and conversation starter at teatime as it is a functional piece of kitchen equipment. The body is made from stainless steel and the handle of black glossy resin. The magnetic base is made of steel, making it suitable for induction heating. The teapot measures 19 x 14.5 x 22 cm.
