A805 Angel Wing Floor Lamp

The A805 Angel Wing Floor Lamp was designed by Alvar Aalto for the brand Artek .

Artek was founded in Helsinki, Finland, in 1935. The four young  men who started this furniture manufacturer had a radical approach, being determined to use cutting edge technology and innovate in their use of materials, while maintaining  beauty, simplicity, functionality and artisanal integrity. Alva Aarto is a Finnish architect and artist who brings a warm touch to the brand's technical approach.

TheA805 Angel Wing Floor Lamp is supported by a metal pedestal and stand, with the base and the stand being covered in leather. The lampshade is made of white steel or polished brass. The shade comprises lacquered metal strips, handriveted together and increasing in size to eventually form a stylised angel's wing shape. The neck is straight, in either polished brass or nickel-plated brass. In both variations, the brass forms a stylish contrast with the leather. The A805 Angel Wing Floor Lamp is 174cm tall and 52cm wide and boasts numerous seals of approval, including the VDE seal, the Italian seal and the CE mark. The energy-efficient halogen bulbs required for this luminaire are ordered separately.
