Product description

The A808 Floor Lamp was designed by Alvar Aalto for the brand Artek.

Artek was founded in Helsinki, Finland, in 1935. The four young men who started this furniture and interior design manufacturer set out to use cutting edge technology and be innovative with respect to their materials, while maintaining the artfulness of simplicity and great workmanship. Alvar Aarto is a Finnish architect and artist with a reputation for treating every piece he designs as a work of art.

The A808 Floor Lamp is supported by a metal pedestal and stand, with the base and the stand being covered in leather. The lampshade is made either of white steel or polished brass. The shade is hand-turned, and is fashioned from metal strips forming concentric circles of increasing size to create a bowl shape. The neck is angled and has a brass finish, contrasting stylishly with the leather. The A808 Floor Lamp is 163cm tall and 40cm wide. The lamp has numerous seals of approval, including the VDE seal, the Italian seal and the CE mark. The energy-efficient halogen bulbs that fit the lamp must be ordered separately.
