The Tizio Desk Lamp has been created by Richard Sapper for the brand Artemide. This lamp is anything but conventional in its design. To break it down, it consists of a series of metallic tubes with a round base, but it offers much more. The innovative designer was inspired by a search for a lamp that didn't have to be clamped on a desk but rather one that could be freely adjusted.
The Tizio Desk Lamp can be swivelled in four directions. Both its height and width can be adjusted. It has arms made of aluminium that have counterweights that facilitate this. Its arm spacer bars are made of chromed steel while its counterweights are made of zinc alloy. The diffuser is made of anodised aluminium and it has a concealed transformer in the base that powers the lamp through the rods and buttons. In addition to giving the lamp its structure, the rods also transmit electric current without electric cables. It is also where you find the two stage dimmer control.
The Tizio Desk Lamp has a width of 78cm, a height of 66cm and a diameter of 11cm. It casts direct light that can be adjusted to cast light exactly where it is needed. It works with a GY6.35 socket. It is available in neutral colours.
