Cotton Canvas Mariposa Butterfly Chair

The Cotton Canvas Mariposa Butterfly Chair has been created by Lars Kjerstadius for the brand cuero. When the Swedish designer came across a chair with similar elements, he sought to recreate it. He took his time doing so and when he was done, the Cotton Canvas Mariposa Butterfly Chair was born. It is called a butterfly because of the shape of the insect that it resembles and it was named mariposa, which is Spanish for beautiful. The chair represents both traditional craftsmanship and industrial production. It is made with a blend of breathable cotton and durable canvas. The fabric is pulled over a frame of solid Swedish steel rods that have a thickness of 1.2cm. The frame is made such that when the fabric is pulled over it, the chair has a deep centre for a seat and a backrest that leans back. Gliders fitted over the rods that stand on the floor give the chair stability.

The Cotton Canvas Mariposa Butterfly Chair has a height of 92cm, a width of 87cm and a depth of 86cm. The larger than standard dimensions make this chair more stable and comfortable. It is available in a selection of neutral colours.
