The Formosa Wall Calendar was created by Enzo Mari for the Italian design label Danese.
The label was launched in Milan in 1957 by Bruno Danese and Jacqueline Vodoz and became known for producing contemporary pieces that fused together the language of graphics, photography and the visual arts. It created both small and large scale furniture and accessories for homes, offices and schools. Environmentally sound workplaces, materials and finished products are at the heart of its philosophy. Italian-born Enzo Mari studied decorative arts before moving into industrial and furniture design. Characteristic of his designs is an experimentation with the aesthetics of shape. His work is widely exhibited, he lectures extensively and among his many prestigious prizes is the Compasso d'Oro which he has won three times.
The Formosa Wall Calendar has become a classic Enzo Mari piece since he first created it in 1962. Both its appearance and function are timeless while the calendar is available in two different colours and four different languages, English, Italian, French and German. The base of the Formosa Wall Calendar is made of anodised aluminium while the sheets are lithographed PVC.
