Hanahana Vase

The Hanahana Vase was crafted by Japanese designer Kazuyo Sejima for the Italian label Driade and is a gorgeous piece of home design.

Sejima's architectural works have often sought to fuse nature and domesticity, with past projects like "Villa in the Forest" near Nagano and "House in a Plum Grove" in Tokyo. This search for natural harmony has brought her plenty of acclaim, including Rolf Schock Prizes and America's Pritzker Architecture Prize. The Hanahana Vase shows that she can work on a smaller canvas as well as whole buildings.

The name "Hanahana" means glory, and it's an apt description of the feeling created by Sejima's piece. It has a simple, tree-like shape made from a single trunk and eight smaller limbs, formed from stainless steel. Even on its own, the vase looks elegant and impressive but is even more so when colourful blooms are placed in the ends of the limbs.

The product stands 160cm tall and is 92cm wide at its broadest point, so will be the right size to accent larger living rooms and bedrooms. Wherever some elegance, natural harmony and colour are required, this Driade design will deliver.
