Product description

The Surprising Chair was designed by Harald Guggenbichler for the manufacturer Fermob. This French company is a leader in upmarket garden furniture, developing pieces that are as long-lasting as they are stylish. Based in Austria and trained as a carpenter, Harald Guggenbichler takes a back-to-basics approach to form and function, creating simple, ergonomic designs that slot seamlessly into modern life. He has exhibited widely in trade shows across Europe, and is the winner of the highly regarded Orticola d'Esterni and Red Dot Design Awards.

Measuring 81cm in height, 52cm in width and 50cm in length, the Surprising Chair has a sturdy steel rod frame, while the seat and backrest are made from steel sheets laser cut into slats that are curved to comfortably accommodate the sitter. The exterior is finished with Fermob's High Protection Treatment, meaning that it can be left outdoors - rain or shine - without suffering any ill effects. A stackable chair that combines polished looks with impressive durability, the Surprising Chair is an excellent choice for home and commercial use alike, as appropriate for busy restaurant terraces as it is for day-to-day use in the garden.
