The Tasca Chair has been created by Pedro Sottomayor for the brand Frama. Its name and design are inspired by the traditional seats that were used in Portuguese restaurants known as Tasca. They can still be found in interior parts of cities and old neighbourhoods.
The Tasca Chair is a revamp of the old-school style. It is made of aluminium which gives it an industrial, contemporary aesthetic. It is hand brushed and untreated so the aluminium will not rust over time but gain a silver-toned patina. The appeal of this metal is its lightness, comfort and durability. The chair has a rectangular backrest set high on the frame. Its side edges are curved inwards so it hugs the back providing optimal comfort. It has a round seat that is well-sized which guarantees comfortable seating. The shell is supported by a base also made of aluminium. It has been shaped into tubular legs with gliders underneath.
The Tasca Chair has a width of 38.7cm, a height of 78.8cm and a depth of 38.7cm. Its seat height is 46cm and its backrest height is 78.8cm. The seat can be used indoors and outdoors. It can be used with a wooden table so that its warm tones create a stunning, aesthetic contrast against its cool metallic tones.
