The Lyss Table Lamp was designed by the in-house Design Studio at the brand Frandsen.
Formed in the 1960s, Frandsen captured the era's rebellious, freethinking ethos with designs like the Ball Wall Lamp and has never looked back. Nowadays, the label taps into its heritage and pushes contemporary boundaries at the same time, and the Lyss collection is a great example.
Meticulously conceptualised and possessing a minimalist elegance characteristic of Danish design, products like the Lyss Table Lamp mix simplicity and technical quality in equal measure. The Lyss Table Lamp is described by its creators as "a shade, an arm, and a base", but that simplicity masks a carefully constructed design. For instance, the white underside of the cone-shaped diffuser directs light from the E27 halogen bulb precisely, with no leakage and minimal glare. The meeting point of diffuser and frame on the Lyss Table Lamp is also fully tiltable, making it easy to position the beam wherever makes the most sense. The design is compact, measuring 18 x 50 cm and weighing 1.9kg, and comes with a fabric clad 250cm cable, enabling flexible placement whether it is used on bedside tables or work desks.
