Carimate™ Armchair Ash

The Carimate™ Armchair Ash has been created by Vico Magistretti for the brand Fritz Hansen. It is a Sustainable Choice product as it is made of FSC®-certified wood.

The Carimate™ Armchair Ash was originally designed in 1959. It had been commissioned for the Carimate golf club in Milan which inspired its design. When it debuted to the market, it found a ready and appreciated market. The chair is made of ash wood and paper cord. Its backrest is made up of a simple slab of wood. Two curved bars on either side of the seat break up the straight lines; they form high armrests. The seat is well-sized and it steals the show with the paper cord it is made of. It has been tightly woven to form a firm, comfortable seat. The natural colour of the cord gives it an organic aesthetic. The base is made up of rounded legs with gliders underneath. They are finished to match the shell.

The Carimate™ Armchair Ash has a width of 58cm, a height of 62.4cm and a depth of 52.3cm. Its seat height is 45cm. It is available in different finishes of ash wood and natural paper cord. It will make an elegant and timeless addition to a living room or seating area in a bedroom.
