The Nelson Saucer Bubble suspension lamp has been created by George Nelson for the brand HAY. A classic of 20th century American design, this pendant lamp has lost none of its appeal since arriving on the scene in 1952. Now updated by HAY , its geometric patterns look set to entrance a new generation.

Born out of a desire to minimise costs but maximise elegance, the Nelson Saucer Bubble suspension lamp succeeds completely. Nelson chose to use a nickel framework for the diffuser structure, while he draped a webbing polymer over the frame, creating something a little like a geodesic dome. The luminaire is elegantly rippled and formed into a flying saucer shape, and the size varies. Four versions are available, with heights of 18cm, 25.5cm, 35.5cm and 56cm, as well as diameters of 44.5cm, 63.5cm, 89cm, or 127cm.

All Nelson Saucer Bubble suspension lamp designs come with an 183 textile coated cable, which can be adapted to suit different room heights. All use the same socket style, although wattages may vary between models. Bulbs are not supplied and the appropriate bulb with the E27 socket can be ordered under accessories. Ideal for dining rooms or living rooms, the Saucer Bubble lamp will add magic wherever it is used.
