The Sparkle Stool was designed by Tokujin Yoshioka for the furniture brand Kartell.
Tokujin Yoshioka is a Japanese artist and designer, famous for his design collaborations with high-profile designers and brands including Issey Miyake, Hermes and BMW. Yoshioka worked under famed designers Shiro Kuramata and Issey Miyake before he became a freelance designer in 1992. In 2000, he established his own design brand, Tokujin Yoshioka Design. He boasts a diverse portfolio, having designed space for cosmetics, car and clothing brands. He has won numerous awards in recognition of his outstanding achievements, including the Maison&Objet Creator of the Year in 2012, A&W Architektur and Wohnen Designer of the Year 2011 and Tokyo Designers Week Artist of the Year in 2010.
The stunning and extravagant Sparkle Stool is constructed in transparent plastic for a look that evokes glass and frozen liquid. It stands at 44cm high with a diameter of 38cm for a comfortable sitting experience, while its contemporary design and practical size mean it works well in a wide variety of interior spaces including living rooms, bedrooms and hallways. A swirling pattern throughout the stool brings interest with an ice-like finish that catches the light, emitting beautiful cascading effects for a glamorous touch.
