161 Suspension Lamp

The 161 Suspension Lamp has been created by Hvidt & Mølgaard for the brand Le Klint. The Danish industrial design and architectural firm was the brainchild of the late Peter Hvidt and the late Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen. The company is remembered as a pioneer of affordable and easy to assemble modern Danish design. The 161 Suspension Lamp designed in1969 is one of their most popular creations and is still in demand today. It is made from a white plastic sheet that has been shaped into diamond-shaped facets. These have been cut and folded to form a round, cloud-like shade. The PVC is color-stabilised and washable and anti-static. It just needs careful handling. To get the folds exactly right and to honour Scandinavian design tradition, each and every shade is hand-folded. This is done in Odense, Denmark. The light source is concealed within the folds of the shade. The lamp casts a soft, white, diffused light.

The 161 Suspension Lamp has a height of 24cm and a diameter of 54cm. Matching the shade is the lamp's white cable, which has a length of 300cm. The appropriate lamp with the E27 socket can be ordered under accessories.
