The PH 3- 2 1/2 Wall Lamp was created by legendary Danish designer Poul Henningsen for the Louis Poulsen label. Although first unveiled over 70 years ago, it remains a stylish and fresh piece of high-quality interior design.
Henningsen was a hugely influential architect and interior designer before and after World War II. He worked a great deal with Louis Poulsen and the PH collection is probably their most accomplished output. The collection is characterised by the use of a three-shade arrangement - Henningsen discovered that by placing three concentric shades inside each other, he could direct light more accurately, dramatically reducing glare. You can see how effective this concept is when you switch on the PH 3- 2 1/2 Wall Lamp.
The lamp attaches to household walls via a right-angled bracket and projects 33.6cm from the wall. Its shade has a diameter of 28.3cm and features the instantly recognisable three-bowl design. Each bowl is made from powder-coated metal, which dampens light, preventing excessive glare. The resulting muted glow makes this wall lamp ideal for hallways and as a supplement for main lamps in bedrooms or living rooms.
