Rocker Rocking Chair

The Rocker Rocking Chair was designed by Shawn Place for the manufacturer Mater.

Mater is where modernist design meets classic through socially responsible and sustainable indoor furniture, lighting and decor. The Danish company has teamed up with Shawn Place, a former bike designer who finds beauty in furniture designs. Shawn?s career in the furniture industry started when he spotted modern pieces in Vancouver's Gastown. Since then, he has developed an impressive collection of handmade furniture, including this rocking chair that combines wood craftsmanship with traditional saddle strap technology to bring a charismatic piece that was featured in IDSWest show in Vancouver.

The Rocker Rocking Chair is manufactured with leather and a rift-cut oak base, which is available in different finishes. With a soft-curved wooden frame and visible leather connections, the rocker makes an indoor eye-catcher. A surface area of 59.5 x 78 x 86.5 cm provides comfort for relaxing and reading. Covered in a firm and flexible leather harness, a 33 cm seat height gives an ample surface for resting the back. The oak frame, which is FSC® certified, provides a warm vibe with rounded angles and select stains.
