Product description

The Meshmatics LED Suspension Lamp has been created by Rick Tegelaar for the brand Moooi. Tegelaar's work has the hallmarks of very uncommon materials which are shaped into unexampled, futuristic forms. His interest in machinery and mechanical processes lead him to use experimental production materials and methods. This is how the Meshmatics LED Suspension Lamp came to be. It is made of chicken wire that has been fashioned into a lamp in a very precise way. This was done by stretching the materials over a mould of the desired shape. The stretching creates tension that holds the shape. The wire mesh, held together with galvanised steel, functions as a reflector and distributes light from the inbuilt LED all around. Light being cast this way changes transparencies because of the lamp's trio of tiers, which make a very striking display. There are also interesting shadows that take the wire mesh shapes which appear alongside the light.

The Meshmatics LED Suspension Lamp has a length of 90cm, a width of 90cm and a cable that is 400cm or 1000cm long. It can be externally dimmed via a trailing edge or reverse phase dimmer. It is available in a selection of colours.
