The Frog Chair was designed by Herbert Hirche for the brand Richard Lampert.
Designer Richard Lampert founded his furniture brand in 1993 in Stuttgart, Germany, an epicentre for luxury manufacturing. At the heart of the brand mission is the drive to create furniture that is clean, simple and designed with precision, but which also has soul. As well as brand new designs, the company has the licence to manufacture iconic creations such as the Frog Chair, an efficient stackable chair, originally designed by Herbert Hirche in 1955 for use in lecture theatres.
The chair is a classic design. a true mid-century piece with its clean lines, functional materials and pleasing symmetry. The back and seat are constructed in lacquered oak or birch whilst the main structure and legs are formed of a powder-coated tubular steel. The stackable feature makes the chair ideal for busy homes or small areas where space is at a premium. The chair remains an excellent choice for educational, municipal or commercial establishments, thanks to both it's practical design and durability. The Frog Chair measures 78cm in height, 49cm in width, 57cm in depth and has a seat height of 45cm.
