This remarkable Cestita Table Lamp was created by Miguel Milá for design company Santa + Cole.

A one-of-a-kind designer from an aristocratic background, Miguel Milá designed the eye-catching creation back in the 60s. It was overshadowed somewhat by its larger cousin the 'Cesta', and yet has now found new appreciation thanks to the versatility its smaller sizes offers for homeowners who want a table lamp that stands out. It is hard to say what the design ethos behind the creation truly is, however, as one surveys it, they're given the impression of an old-world view of the universe, where the sun is suspended in the sky by mechanical means.

The Cestita Table Lamp itself comes in an choice of glass or plastic, meaning it can find a role in locations as diverse as hotel lobbies and childrens' play areas within the home. With a height of 36cm and a diameter of 22cm, it can be made to fit into a variety of locations throughout the home. The timber frame that surrounds the lamp is a hand-crafted affair that is made from pine wood and built to add a natural elegance to the look of the table lamp.
