The String Works Desk 140x78cm was designed by Nisse Strinning for furniture manufacturer String.

The late Strinning was a popular Swedish architect and designer, hailing from Kramfors. He studied architecture at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, quickly building a reputation for his innovative and aesthetically pleasing designs in plastic. These included the famous String shelf and Dish rack that featured plastic-coated metal wires. Together with his wife, Strinning designed numerous items during the '60s and '70s and became recognised as a design icon of the 20th century. His stellar career was recognised with numerous awards, including the Triennale Gold Medal and Classic Award by Svensk Form.

The String Works Desk has an elegant, contemporary design with a three-leg feature at either side, a thin tabletop surface and a special area for cable routing. The desk is 160cm wide, 118.5cm high and 78cm deep, providing ample work space. With either a metal and oak or ash construction and laminate surface, the desk is durable and easy to keep clean. Another useful feature is its height-adjustability, allowing you to alter the height for meetings or to support standing-up working. The cable port keeps cables neat and tidy, promoting a minimalist office style.
