This Workplace Combination 158x200x30cm was created by Nisse Strinning for his own String label. Based in Sweden, the label has become famous across the world for its intelligently designed, adaptable storage products, and this useful set of shelves and racks is no exception.

Strinning came of age as a product designer in the post-WW2 era, when Scandinavian design experienced its golden age. Working closely with his wife, he came up with the String shelving range in the 1950s, and refined it continuously for decades. At a time when home owners were clamouring for stylish but flexible interior design options, Strinning's creations found fans on every continent, and continue to form the basis for interiors today.

Based around a simple arrangement of metal racks and wooden shelves, this Workplace Combination 158x200x30cm is instantly recognisable as a Strinning product. A large modular shelving unit, it measures 138cm in width and 200cm in height, and incorporates three vertical metal supports. Within those racks, the designers have added a functional desk area, with several trays alongside it. And there's plenty of room to expand those storage options if required. Elegantly made from wood, metal, and plastic, it will be a useful addition to studies and offices alike.
