The 1809 Side Table has been created by Formstelle for the brand Thonet. German design house Formstelle has built a reputation for futuristic, experimental and innovative pieces, and this attractive contemporary side table is a fine example.
The 1809 Side Table will be instantly familiar, with its round tabletop and cross-shaped base. The surface of the table has been made from lacquered oak with a veneer edge which creates a pure, appealing look and can be wiped clean easily when needed. The frame complements the surface well. Its brushed flat stainless steel materials provide plenty of strength and resilience, while their gleaming finish sits well with the natural look of the tabletop.
The 1809 Side Table stands 50cm above the ground and the surface has a diameter of 65cm. Felt glides have been added to the base of the base, ensuring that fragile flooring materials will be protected when the table is moved. Thonet intended the 1809 Side Table to sit alongside items in its 808 collection of chairs and footrests, but it will work equally well on its own. And it can also be combined with the slightly higher 1809 Side Table to create harmonious arrangements for offices and living spaces.
