The B 97 Side Table Set of 2 Beech was designed in-house for the brand Thonet.

The Thonet brand has been around for 200 years, during which time it has created a number of outstanding design classics. The company was extremely influential within the Bauhaus movement and its bent wood techniques inspired the designer Marcel Breuer to experiment with designs featuring bent tubular steel.

The design for the B 97 set of 2 side tables was based on Marcel Breuer's iconic B 9 table set. This B 97 Side Table Set of 2 Beech has a lightweight, tubular steel frame and a beech table top which is available with a natural or stained finish. While the nesting tables can be pushed together to create a larger, staggered side table layout, their most outstanding design features include the metal grip style openings on the table top, making it a simple matter to pull either table into place from a reclining or seated position. The smooth curvature of the shiny tubular steel frame doesn't just look great, but also means the base of the table will slide neatly under most furnishings. The larger table measures 53 x 57 x 47 cm.
