The Eames Plastic Armchair DAR H43cm was created by Charles & Ray Eames for the Swiss label Vitra.

For nearly 70 years, Vitra has been creating highly aesthetic furniture and accessories for domestic and public spaces. The label works with contemporary designers and also reworks classics such as those designed by the Eames partnership. The multi award-winning Charles and Ray Eames created icons of the furniture world by fusing architectural lines with artistic elegance.

The Eames Plastic Armchair DAR H43cm, designed in 1950, has become an icon of mid-20th-century American modernism. With a frame reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower's structural lines, the chair is a pleasing and functional blend of light and strength and looks just as at home in the office as in the dining room. The flowing seat shell is made from one piece of dyed polypropylene and is available in a choice of colour finishes. The base is made from chrome-plated steel, while each leg is finished with a felt glider to protect hard floors. The Eames Plastic Armchair DAR H43cm measures 83cm in height, 62.5cm in width and 60cm in depth.
