The Eames Plastic Armchair DAR White Base was designed by Ray and Charles Eames for the brand Vitra.

The work of this American couple, both industrial designers, continues through their company, the Eames Office. Moulded plywood furniture has been their primary focus, and their moulded chair was labelled "the chair of the century". Vitra is a Swiss company, specialising in manufacturing items created by the top designers from across the globe.

The Eames Plastic Armchair DAR White Base has white-coated steel legs that form what the manufacturers refer to as an "Eiffel Tower base". The seat is a moulded shell, made of polypropylene. The colour range is large; there is a chair to grace any office or living environment. The chairs are suitable for outdoor use, too. The Eames Plastic Armchair DAR White Base is 62.5 cm wide, 83 cm high, and 60 cm deep. The seat height is 43cm. The chair is equipped with felt gliders for use on a hard floor and can be purchased with seat covers or cushions that are available in all the colours in which the chair itself is available. The cushions are covered in combinations of two colours and are reversible.
