The Eames Plastic Armchair DAW H43cm was created by legendary designers Ray and Charles Eames for the equally renowned manufacturer Vitra.

It's hard to overstate the importance of this pair to contemporary design. The designers' pioneering work in new materials paved the way for much of what we think of as a modernist aesthetic. Rightly celebrated in their lifetimes they were recipients of the RIBA Gold Medal , their reputation has only grown since. An Eames design is a benchmark of the marriage of form and function and beautiful aesthetic appeal matched with usability.

This is represented perfectly by the famous Eames Plastic Armchair DAW H43cm. A work of art in its own right Ray Eames used to say "I still paint, I just changed my palette" , its sinuous seat would look equally at home in a modern living room, kitchen or even conservatory. The contrast of the polypropylene seat, available in a wide range of colours, with the warm maple wood of the legs grounds this chair in a number of eras. Hard-wearing and easy to clean, it's as utilitarian as it is a tremendous design statement, with the seat height at a comfortable 43cm.
