Wooden Doll Little Devil

The Wooden Doll Little Devil was designed by Alexander Girard for the Vitra label.

Alexander Girard initially trained as an architect but specialised in many areas such as folk art, textiles and graphic design. His designs are influenced by the collection of textiles and toys he has amassed from around the world, and his first wooden doll was created in 1953. Vitra is a Swiss, family-run label with its own impressive design museum campus in Weil am Rhein, Germany, where the company was founded in the 1950s before moving to its current base in Switzerland.

The Wooden Doll Little Devil is hand-carved from solid fir wood and has a height of 14cm and width of 4.6cm. Honed and polished to perfection, you will immediately recognise the pointed ears and tail of the little devil and appreciate the intricate, smooth contours of the doll. Its hand-painted features carry a particular charm that exudes character. The Wooden Doll Little Devil is perfect as part of a toy collection but also an ideal table centrepiece or shelf ornament homeowners that are style-conscious but who don't take themselves too seriously.
