This Opus Centrepiece was created by Guido Venturini for the Italian Alessi label. With its subtle steel design, it will be a fitting setting for dazzling flowers, fine foods and any other table decorations.
Venturini is a leading contemporary Italian designer. Born in 1957, he has been creating exceptional household decorations and furnishings since the mid 1980s. An accomplished musician as well as an acclaimed designer, Venturini's pieces have the harmony and beauty of classical compositions.
The quality of his work is a great fit for Alessi. Dubbing themselves the "Factory of Design", the company operates out of Milan and creates a huge array of superb kitchen and living room accessories - including plenty of centrepieces.
The Opus Centrepiece is a great example of the label's commitment to quality. Made from an irregular mesh of slender steel, it has been formed into a concave design, creating a cradle for whatever decorative elements you want to use. It measures 60 x 34 cm, with a height of just 7.5cm and weighing 2.1kg.
Elegant and original, it will be the ideal focal point for dining tables, but will be equally appropriate for sideboards and occasional tables too.
