The 66 Chair Lacquered Base has been created by Alvar Aalto for the brand Artek. Its design combines elements of classic kitchen and café chairs. The result is a piece that is simple, elegant and timeless.
The 66 Chair Lacquered Base is made of Finnish birch wood. It is lightweight yet strong and durable. It has a standard-height backrest. It is solid with a U-shaped opening at the bottom. The opening creates two bars on either side that are curved and attached to the back legs. The chair has a round base that adds another shape to the others. The medley of lines and curves is one aspect that makes its design so unique. The legs carry the same element design element. They are curved at the top and it is these curved parts that are attached to the underside of the seat. The front legs are straight while those at the back are angled outwards. Apart from adding a decorative detail, it enhances the chair's strength and stability.
The 66 Chair Lacquered Base has a width of 39cm, a height of 80cm and a depth of 42cm. It has a seat height of 45.5cm and a backrest height of 80cm. It is available in light and dark-toned neutral colours.
