This sturdy and elegant Wick Armchair With Wooden Frame was designed by Jesper Ståhl and Karl Malmvall for the Swedish label Design House Stockholm.

Describing itself as a 'publisher of design', Design House Stockholm was founded by Anders Färdig in 1992 to provide a network of independent designers with a place to submit their ideas, similar to the arrangement between publishers and authors. One early success was the revolutionary Block-lamp designed by Harri Koskinen when he was still a student. Launched in 1996, the lamp is still a bestseller in the firm's extensive portfolio of innovative products for the home.

With a seat made from laminated plaited wood on slender wooden legs, the Wick Armchair With Wooden Frame was inspired by the shape of a traditional Swedish wood chip basket. The plaiting delivers a resilience along with a warm natural feel and firm back support. Measuring 75cm in height and with a width of 57cm, a depth of 50.5cm and a chair height of 44cm, the unit is available in lacquered oak or ash, and steel legs are an option. Stylish and comfortable, the Wick Armchair With Wooden Frame makes a fine addition to any home - especially in kitchens and dining rooms.
