Bakkes Side Table

The Bakkes Side Table has been created by Kranen/Gille for the brand Fatboy. When designing Bakkes, the Dutch duo sought to create something which bridges nature and modernity. The result is this hybrid side table which doubles up as a practical place to store essentials and a planter for flowers and other foliage - perfect for decorating gardens and balcony spaces.

The Bakkes Side Table has a round surface with a diameter of 60cm which has been made from powder-coated polyethylene plastic. Rounded edges add a touch of softness to the design and are complemented by diagonal steel legs which support the table capably and come with an identical powder-coated finish. Various colours are available, including anthracite and emerald green, and all have a fun, laid back look that will instantly brighten up locations around the home.

The Bakkes Side Table measures 48.7cm high and weighs 6.8kg. However, the standout feature is the addition of a 'planter' compartment within the tabletop. Reinforced to hold enough soil to allow plants to thrive, this planter can become home to vines, exotic flowers or favourite native blooms. And if the table is placed indoors, it can also serve as a well for pens and other accessories.
