Series 7™ Swivel Armrest Chair / Office Chair

The Series 7™ Swivel Armrest Chair/Office Chair has been created by Arne Jacobsen for the brand Fritz Hansen. The late Danish architect and industrial designer left behind a rich legacy of futuristic, innovative designs that were well ahead of their time. They went on to become iconic pieces that are still sought after today. The 1955 Series 7™ Swivel Armrest Chair/Office Chair is one such piece. It is made of no fewer than nine layers of pressure-moulded veneer. The chair's backrest is wide at the top and then tapers downwards. It then broadens out into a generously sized seat. On the sides, it has padded and upholstered armrests. Over the padding is upholstery fashioned from top-quality leather. The chair rests on a stem that is made of steel and finished in chrome. This stem branches out into a star-shaped base with wheels. Also made of tubular steel, the base is formed from thick tubes and then narrow ones that run parallel. The result is an intricate, criss-cross pattern.
