This gorgeous Ruutu Bouroullec Vase 115x140mm was created by the Bouroullec brothers Erwan and Ronan for Finland's iittala label, and it is a stunning example of mouth-blown glass production.
The Ruutu collection was commissioned by iittala to take advantage of Finland's community of artisan glass manufacturers. However, they brought in the skills of the French Bouroullecs to design the range. Famed for their whimsical concepts and commitment to craft production, the Bouroullec brothers proved a good fit for the label, resulting in an exceptional range of collectable blown-glass vases.
This item from the Ruutu collection has dimensions of 11.5 x 14 cm, with a cubic form and a slightly raised, rounded base. Made from mouth-blown glass, the Ruutu Bouroullec Vase 115x140mm possesses a rich, delicate texture, an effect that is complemented by the range of tints that the glass makers have applied.
It all comes together in a beautiful vase that would be the ideal setting for flowers and herbs. It's easy to imagine a few Ruutu vases as a centrepiece for dinner tables, or as containers for basil, parsley or mint in a contemporary kitchen. Wherever they are placed, these vases will provide elegance and colour.
