The Dining Chair

The Dining Chair has been created by Space Copenhagen for the brand Mater. The brainchild of Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, Space Copenhagen is a Danish multidisciplinary design studio. The duo behind it are guided by functionality, Scandinavian design traditions and detailing that gives a piece timeless aesthetics. The Dining Chair illustrates this duo's design ethos and their abilities. The chair will keep friends and family lingering at the table long after the meal is over. It has an inward-curving backrest. Made of steam-bent veneer, it not only supports the back but hugs it within its curved edges. It has a well-sized round seat made of solid oak or FSC®® certified beech wood with padding and soft, durable leather upholstery. The shell rests on a frame made of beech wood or oak. The legs on the frame are angled outwards at the back, giving the chair added strength and durability.

The Dining Chair has a width of 52cm, a depth of 44cm and a height of 80cm. It has a seating height of 47cm. The chair comes in three designs: natural matt lacquered oak with a natural tanned leather seat, grey stained oak with a black leather seat or black stained beech with a black leather seat.
