The Tones 1 Tufting Rug has been created by Claudia Valsells for the brand Nanimarquina. The designer made colour the focal point of this rug. She chose tones that would add harmony and symmetry to a space.
The Tones 1 Tufting Rug is made of pure wool sourced from India. Its quality can be compared to that of New Zealand wool which has luxurious softness. The Tones 1 is a hand-tufted rug. This describes the weaving technique used to create it which involves punching holes in the yarn. This is done using a fabric that has been spread out and stretched on a frame. Punching is done following the pattern that has been transferred onto the fabric digitally. Once the strands have been pushed through to form the pattern, the excess is trimmed to the desired pile height. The pattern is perfected by contouring it with a needle or scissors. The process is finished with latex on the underside and then fabric to line it.
The Tones 1 Tufting Rug comes in a smaller size that has a width of 170cm and a length of 240cm. The larger one has a width of 200cm and a length of 300cm.
