The Kabino Sideboard was created by Simon Legald for the Danish design label Normann.
Jan Andersen and Poul Madsen launched their Normann brand in Copenhagen in 1999 and since then, it has produced innovative products for the home that display a Scandinavian flair. After graduating in fine arts from the Royal Danish Academy, Legald went on to use his fascination for traditional crafts and industrial design for the creation of both small and large-scale projects.
Designed in 2013, the Kabino Sideboard is a versatile piece of furniture with a simple elegance - an elegance enhanced by the perforated holes in one of its two sliding doors. The doors are made from matte-lacquered aluminium, while the inside shelves are of painted MDF. The pale ash frame that supports the structure softens the sideboard's outlines and adds warmth to its appearance. Although designed as a sideboard, its understated elegance works just as well in kitchens, entrance halls or bedrooms, while a built-in cable outlet allows it to function well as a TV cabinet. The Kabino Sideboard measures 114 x 61 x 42 cm and is designed to be stackable when the legs are removed, adding to its versatility.
