Hippo Sofa

The Hippo Sofa has been created by Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl for the brand NORR 11. It gets its name from its round, plump parts that mimic the shape of a hippo's body. It is a playful, whimsical piece.

The Hippo Sofa is perfect for a child's bedroom or play area. It has an inner shell made of plywood which is pliable enough to be folded into a round shape. The wood is covered with cut foam and upholstered with Barnum Bouclé. It is a butter-soft fabric that is a blend of wool, cotton, acrylic, nylon and viscose. It has a tactile curly texture. The sofa is essentially made of two parts. One is the generously padded seat which is rectangular, with rounded corners. The other is the long, lumbar pillow at the top which acts as a backrest.

The Hippo Sofa has a width of 235cm, a height of 74cm and a depth is 63cm. Its seat height is 42cm. It can comfortably seat four. The sofa should be cared for with frequent vacuuming. When it needs a deeper clean, it should be left to the professionals. Alternatively, it can be cleaned with an upholstery cleaning product.
