This elegant and functional Metro Sofa Bed was designed by Stephan Hertzog and Flemming Busk for Danish furniture producer Softline.

Softline was established in Maribo, Denmark in 1979 to produce polyurethane foam for the country's furniture makers. It quickly grew into one of the region's most innovative furniture producers through its association with leading designers. During the 1980s, its partnership with designer Kurt Brandt led to the development of many revolutionary items, including the PAX sofa bed, which quickly became a bestseller. Today, the firm produces four distinctive furniture lines - the Spirit, Nordic, Active and Living lines, each reflecting the firm's Scandinavian heritage.

Serving equally well as a three-seater couch or a single/double bed, the Metro Sofa Bed brings a stylish functionality to any setting. Measuring 218cm in length, 218cm in width and 78cm in height, the unit comes in a choice of colours. The sofa bed covers can removed for dry cleaning or just for a change in appearance. The Metro Sofa Bed can also be combined with other items from the firm's collection to create a desired living space and hub for the modern home.
