The innovative S 64 NDR Pure Materials Swivel Chair was designed by Marcel Breuer for the brand Thonet.
Michael Thonet founded the company in Boppard, Germany in 1918. He was the first manufacturer to offer bentwood furniture on the market while also selling tubular steel furniture. The chair's Swiss designer Marcel Breuer was also a pioneer in tubular steel furniture designs. He primarily worked in the field of interior design. Breuer was credited with designing the ten most important chairs of the 20th century, including the iconic S 64 NDR Pure Materials Swivel Chair.
This classic looking S 64 NDR Pure Materials Swivel Chair offers mobility and flexibility compatible with a modern lifestyle. As a swivel chair with a central leg and castors, it can be used in different areas in an office or at home. The frame, with its five-arm turnstile on castors, is made from aluminium while the wooden parts are manufactured from stained beech. Measuring 68cm wide, 68cm deep and 77cm high, the seat and back are covered with a plastic net. The height of the seat measures 39cm. Comfortable and practical, the chair is available in a studio version.
