The quirky Welle 5 Sofa Element was created by Verner Panton for Danish design company Verpan.
Verpan is a company that celebrates the legacy of internationally renowned designer Verner Panton. Panton was born in 1926, and was a vital part of the futuristic mid-century design movement.
The Welle 5 Sofa Element is a multi-purpose piece of furniture that acts as a stool, footrest, and even as a level surface for writing or eating. It is part of the Welle modular sofa system, and although it can be placed alone it works best when paired with the wave-like shapes of the Welle 1 or Welle 2 elements. It is made from a durable yet comfortable rattan-esque fabric, with soft foam padding and a sturdy wooden frame. Available in a variety of colourways, the Welle system is particularly suited to commercial spaces and study areas.
The Welle 5 Sofa Element has a pill shaped design, with a height of 40cm, a width of 50cm, and a depth of 108cm, making it a practical prospect for smaller spaces. It weighs in at 12kg, so while it is not the lightest stool it is still easily movable.
