Amoebe Lounge Chair

The Amoebe Lounge Chair has been created by Verner Panton for the brand Vitra. Designed in 1970, it has stood the test of time and continues to attract interest and appreciation. Its design is inspired by the exuberance of the early 70s.

The Amoebe Lounge Chair has a high backrest that has a shell made of laminate wood. It has curved edges and the line continues downwards where it forms a wide seat. It is upturned and has the same curves as the backrest. The curved line continues downwards to a lower edge that is turned inwards. Apart from the decorative element this adds, it also serves the purpose of holding the chair steady and lifting it off the floor. In addition to the elegant arches, the chair is upholstered with premium-quality fabric. Specifically, it is upholstered with Kvadrat Tonus 3 fabric that is made with a blend of 90% new wool and 10% Helanca. It is warm, soft, plush and durable. The chair has no joints or fasteners which gives it a clean, sleek profile.

The Amoebe Lounge Chair has a width of 62cm, a height of 87cm and a depth of 86cm. Its seat height is 27cm. It is available in neutral and bright, cheery colours.
