The Eames Stool has been created by Ray and Charles Eames for the brand Vitra. Shaped like a chess piece from a solid block of natural wood, this gorgeous stool first appeared in 1960 as a furnishing for the Time Inc offices in New York's Rockefeller Centre. Now, Vitra offers the classic stool for everyday use, and it will be a superb add-on for basements, bedrooms, lounges, and living rooms.

The Eames Stool has a round upper surface which is slightly concave, and which contrasts with the beautifully sculpted central spine. The stool has been formed from walnut wood, and it retains the natural richness of the material. While it will be a wonderful place to sit and socialise, the stool is also intended to serve as a side table if needed, adding versatility to spaces around the home.

The Eames Stool is 38cm high and has a diameter of 33cm and the slender sections of the spine mean that it can be grasped and carried with ease. The use of brown walnut wood means that the stool will harmonise smoothly with wooden chairs and flooring, as well as soft furnishings in many colours. And it will always inspire and delight, wherever it is used.
