The Nuage Vase M was created by the French design duo Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Vitra.
Trained and now based in Paris, the Bouroullec brothers continue to build an international reputation for their elegant visions in glassware, furniture and ceramics. Theirs is a beautifully complementary style, with pieces created to enhance other stylish elements of an interior - or even an exterior. Enthusiasts can visit their amazing 100m-long Nuage Promenade in Miami's design district, which sees their much-used 'cloud' motif turned into an impressive modernist pergola.
The Nuage Vase M is a perfect example of their design aesthetic, and it works well in both a contemporary or traditional setting. Made from anodised aluminium, and with contours that can reflect a natural or an industrial look, the Nuage Vase M works beautifully as a sculptural object on its own, but the effect is enhanced when two or more are arranged together. At 19.5 x 11 x 24 cm, the Nuage Vase M is perfect on a domestic scale: it's easy to picture two or three used together as a stunning table centrepiece or set against the plain colour of a wall to emphasise the tones and shapes of the flowers they hold.
